@gigalomaniac also real and true
@gigalomaniac@everywhere.fraudulent.link omg same bestieeeeee
@gigalomaniac "negotiable American currency" so like Visa? and you'll code it as vaguely travel-related merchant code?? 🧐
@gigalomaniac I mean I haven't really seen them worn around here, they're for counting repetitions when praying or something.
@gigalomaniac@everywhere.fraudulent.link i go to apple.com and it costs like 500 bucks to install macos minimum!
@gigalomaniac@everywhere.fraudulent.link
Well actually you have to go to "Winuxos.org" and get the real version of windows!
Very common scam you see there is no such thing as a windows 11 that would be silly.
@gigalomaniac@everywhere.fraudulent.link
Yes of course my bad, Windows 11 has been a Winux skin this whole time
Those pesky scammers simply use pictures of it throw AI-spyware at people!
@gigalomaniac@everywhere.fraudulent.link oh I forgot it did that
@gigalomaniac@everywhere.fraudulent.link I might turn it off on my snac since I want to use it for testing stuff, which I haven't gotten around to doing yet :p
@gigalomaniac how does it work in general?
@gigalomaniac counting early access as release date completely defeats the point of early access of getting public feedback and funding on an unfinished game though 🤔
@gigalomaniac yeah i agree on that, it would be nice to have some sort of early access release date in the infobox
yes and no
for most games it's a matter of setting expectations i think
i don't expect having a good experience when playing an early access game, and for that reason i'm very reluctant to buy or even play early access games
but at the same time, if i do, i don't like to criticize them publicly if i had a bad time while playing until the developers say they're done, since i was warned about it
@steffo @gigalomaniac early access is when the large public can purchase the game and play it and get their first impression
for all practical purposes it is the release
I'm officially going woke
@gigalomaniac real and true
@gigalomaniac also real and true
maybe a lisp os like on the synaptics machines of yore?
or another more functional view of unix like plan9, maybe something more inspired by the es shell
for me i do sporadically think about making a little embeddable forth os (inspired by reforth on the language front), mostly for powering robotics projects but i could (perhaps as an optional module) try to do more retrocomputing-inspired desktop functionality as well
like if i were implementing a posix libc id want nothing more than to just use musl or another known good implementation. its the definition of reinventing the wheel when theres netbsd and musl already out there
If you ever think to yourself, I want to chat with that person, but I don't want to bother them. STOP, go send them a dm, they may also want to chat with you, but feel too anxious to send a dm. In the worst case scenario they will just ignore you, it's fine. Please do dm people
